Fishing

The lake is a great waterway for fishing. Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Walleye, Pickerel, Yellow Perch, Trout, Striped Bass, Channel Catfish and a variety of panfish. Fish off our private dock or take your boat to explore the 52 miles of shoreline. We also have contacts for guided fishing trips.

Don't forget that a valid fishing license is required for anglers 16 years old and up. Short-term tourist permits are available for visitors and can be purchased online.

Watersport's 

Whatever summer splash activities are on your dream lake day list, you're sure to find them at Lake Wallenpaupack. Rent a boat or jet ski and cruise the 5,700 acre lake, explore the many islands and coves the lake has to offer. Go waterskiing, tubing, wakeboarding, wake surfing, or just anchor and relax.

All cabins guests have access to our paddle boards and kayaks. You can launch right into the quietest cove on the lake or paddle to one of the many secluded islands right from our shoreline.

Local outfitters providing boat and jet ski rentals, sales and scenic tours are conveniently dotted all along Lake Wallenpaupack's shores.

Hiking

Don't feel like getting wet? Explore one of the area’s scenic hiking trails! Stay in sight of the water on the Wallenpaupack Lake Trail, accessible from the Lake Wallenpaupack Visitors Center. The trail traces the lakeshore for about three miles before merging with the half-mile Wallenpaupack Creek Trail. For a longer trek, head to Promised Land State Park about eight miles from the Big Lake. Perched on the Pocono Plateau, the park features nearly 50 miles of paths to wander and two lakes of its own. Hikers can also branch into the extensive trail system in adjacent Delaware State Forest. 

Winter Fun

Winter at Lake Wallenpaupack offers a variety of activities to enjoy during the cold season. You can try ice fishing, or explore trails with a snowmobile for an adrenaline rush. If you're into skating, find a safe spot on the lake for ice skating or glide over snow-covered trails with cross-country skiing. Hiking enthusiasts can enjoy winter landscapes through snowshoeing or winter hiking. Don't forget to capture the serene winter beauty with photography, and look out for eagles hunting around the lake. For some family fun, find a hill for sledding, or head to one of the nearby ski resorts to go tubing or skiing.

Party

Wally Lake Fest is an annual summer festival held at Lake Wallenpaupack, celebrating the lake and its community with a wide range of activities. If you can't make Wally Lake Fest, you can head to party cove on any holiday or weekend to enjoy a day of craziness.
